Profile
Hello! I am a graphic designer, web designer, illustrator and artist with an emphasis in print, typography, illustration, and semiotics based in San Francisco, California.

I am excited by all things profane, arcane, weird and everything in between. My work draws from tattoo traditions, folk art, and counter-culture aesthetics. While I embrace digital practices, I often break away from the screen and hold myself accountable to meticulous standards of craftsmanship and hand work. My goal is to disrupt the lines between digital construction and bespoke handiwork. For me, the most compelling work emerges from the study of these trade and craft traditions shaped by diverse cultural perspectives. My approach to design must involve the rigorous understanding of the systems that serve workers, designers and clients. I am passionate about work for inclusive, accessible communities.

Forms of The Formless, Parker Leabo

May 2026

Publication Design
This publication is a hand crafted book, made with entirely archival materials. It is handbound, and the hardcovers are hand made.Forms of the Formless is an investigation of cross-culturally dense myths and our relationship to them. It uses “stencils” that project shadows to enact the ephemeral, relational nature of myths.

Lorem Ipsum...

Forms of the Formless is an investigation of the human tendency to tell mythical stories. Myths are a peculiar aspect of the human experience, and exist as a vehicle for us to simultaneously externalize and internalize cultural values. I rebuke the notion that myths and stories are folly. Rather, I suggest that myths are living, real, non-physical entities we exist in a symbiotic relationship with. These are living structures that we use to share our likeness with, and hold important ancestral and cultural memories. Much like a myth, shadows are a non-physical entity that exist because of a relationship between objects. To enact this parallel, I used illustrations of stencils that project myths through an interplay of light and shadow. Aesthetically, inspired by overlooked occult and abstruse books, I sought to recreate the visual language of esoteric texts in a modern design object. It was my goal to not only depict these stories, but enact them conceptually. This project was on display at SOMArts gallery, for my undergraduate thesis show.

This bookcover and binding was handcrafted, printed full color CMYK on high quality stock, with stencils being illustrated in vector and cut with a plotter cutter. In addition, all of the content is original was thoroughly researched by me over the extensive course of the project.
